Very Windy

Contrary to expectations, it wasn’t very windy but certainly a lot cooler as I was wearing a hoodie and a hat. We walked the usual route and afterwards I took Skinny and the girls. Isabella brought only one ball but the one she brought was falling apart. Even more so after she pulled it to pieces. I was left to carry the thrower with not a shot fired. Other than a guy working at the greenhouses, we met no one.

I rode directly to Paleochora having first collected money from the French woman with the teenage kids. They didn’t walk to Elafonissi yesterday as they were put off by the notice saying it would take five hours to get there. More like five hours there and back from Krios. Nevertheless, they drove around some of the villages and had a good time. They planned to walk the Irini Gorge but they wished to descend it and the only bus which allows the car to be left at the bottom of the gorge left at 07:00. They packed up and went off to continue their holiday.

I unpacked my groceries then fed the dogs before washing up and making tea. There were a couple of beetroot to cook so they were put in the pot.

The forecast wind didn’t materialise so I decided to walk around the houses picking up the sheets and putting it in the washing machine. After all, I’d only ridden to Petrakis and back as I really didn’t much like the rain which started to fall once I’d left Grammeno. As it turned out, there were lots of dark clouds but very little rain of consequence.

I’d put the sheets on the line which were drying nicely before the promised wind started and then increased in strength. With plenty of pegs, most of the sheets stayed on the line and dried quickly. The force of the wind increasing, I felt it better to take in the sheets as quickly as possible.

Meanwhile, I received a message that there was a problem with the mail at InterSport. It transpired to be to do with lost or missing server certificate so I’ll look into in later.

The dogs were starting to bug me about food so I prepared to feed them after I’d taken down the sheets which were mostly dry.

The dogs and I are inside as it’s too windy outside. I must release Maya from the SDC as I’ve forgotten her again. Poor Maya!

A calm but cool start with very strong wind in the afternoon somewhat later than forecast. The day was much cooler as it started cloudy and then windy. Tomorrow is likely to be similar. There was no significant rain.
