Internet – Again

The night was a little windy as was the morning. I decided on a hoodie with even a wooly hat underneath although I left the hoodie behind on the second walk.

Two motorhomes were parked along the beach track, one from Austria, the other from France. The Austrian one looked very posh. We passed them several times as we walked to Azzuro and back.

The girls and Skinny came out again around seven-thirty. A great deal of energy was expended at the beginning but after, the thrower became more a fashion accessory. The day was beginning it warm up and the wind moderated a little.

As I was leaving the camping on my bike, I came upon a couple wandering around. It was only 08:15 but it transpired they were from the posh, Austrian motorhome from earlier. I suggested they might come back after their breakfast as I was on my way out.

I rode over Panorama and around Paleochora just for the exercise as I had no need for shopping or bread. There are DDs to make tomorrow but I’ll go to both Petrakis and Anatoli in the morning.

The French group were packing up so I chatted to Jessica and Patrick whilst waiting for them to load their car. They came back to say they’d enjoyed their stay and I relieved them of some money. It was when I was going back to the van that the Austrians called to say they were here as they’d put their van in bay 3. I showed them around and left them to organise themselves.

The dogs had been waiting a while for their breakfast which I served to them soon after. I made tea then sat in the sun. Manos told me customers had mentioned the Internet wasn’t working so I went to investigate in the office. I could see from the settings there was no IP on the WAN link to I sent a message to Maria to ask her to call OTE. I’ve used up some of my monthly Internet allowance of which I have plenty.

One way or another, the morning had been busy and long so I caught up with some relaxation and made more tea. Bona arrived and I gave her some Hell and a couple of packets I purchased from the periptero the previous day. She was busy on the phone so I delivered the items and left her to it.

A Greek guy called about renting a small cabin tomorrow and another about an August booking. I sent the guy for the booking a link as well as the person who called twice the previous evening.

My next arrival called to say he was on his way from the US base on his motor scooter. He called me last week to say he wouldn’t be coming as he was in the hospital. It transpired there was a memorial parade at the base for Vietnam veterans and that he was involved. He then explained he’d been on a five-day fast trying to lose weight. With the combination of no food, standing for a long time and warmth, he keeled over to find himself in the hospital having tests. He was told that the combination of the parade coupled with the warmth and lack of food had brought about the problem. He’s now fine and staying in Ξ2 next to Patrick and their newly-acquired cat. He’s a cat-lover as he arrived with a large bag of cat food and began feeding some to the cats early on. I suggested he might consider a more holistic approach to his weight-loss program.

I noticed Georgia and Zoë arriving as I walked up but left them to settle in as they’ hadn’t spotted me.

Manos prepared a massive salad which I will soon consume once I’ve made a few additions. A nice easy way to end the day.

The weather was generally fine and sunny but there’s no point in posting anything as there’s been no Internet all day so the website hasn’t benn updated. Maria tells me OTE are on it and it should be back in a ‘matter of hours.’
