Orange Sky

Following the demise of BritBox, I transferred to ITVX but didn’t buy a subscription whilst I look around at the other streaming services. There seemed to be a bandwidth problem when watching so I abandoned ITVX for YouTube which didn’t seem to have any problem streaming. I was late to bed as everything was late yesterday so it was heading towards midnight when I fell asleep.

The night was warm and the morning still windy but warm. The moon was further up the sky but hampered by banks of cloud. It didn’t really help out much in the end. Our walk was shorter than yesterday’s. The sea was very excited on the Alonáki side so it was a question of timing when walking up the beach as the sea was well up Alonáki Beach.

Skinny stayed behind, probably because he’s not a huge fan of the wind. I took the girls to the Promontory where it was more sheltered and threw the ball on the beach and into the lagoon which was quite full. The sea is still rough and sometimes comes over the causeway.

The wind was very strong so I decided against venturing out on my bike intending to go out later when the forecast indicated that it would be calmer. I’m still waiting.

I connected Erica and Janne to the inverter as I stole their electricity meter for something else. I used one of the new breakers which does overload, short circuit and earth leakage. They have another meter module which keeps records for longer and is more informative including hourly reading whereas the other just lumped the day into one bar graph.

Later, I signed up to NetFlix just for a month so I can explore their catalogue. I still have adverts though.

I went inside to update the Mac and the sky was orange when I came back out later to feed the dogs and cats. I’m not sure where the dust is from as the wind is generally northeasterly. Paleochora and the mountains have disappeared.

Georgia called to tell me she’d been for a scan which revealed she has seven crumbling vertebrae. She will have to have a brace to give her more support. At present, she’s taking quite a few painkillers. She asked me to give some money to Toni and Manos as it will be a few days before she comes again.

There have been no callers today which makes a welcome change. Other than walking 8km with the dogs this morning, I’ve not really done very much due to the unfavourable conditions. I felt tired as I didn’t have much sleep.

Warm and windy with an Orange sky later. The wind kept blowing hard but seemed to calm a little in the evening. Tomorrow should be less windy but also cooler.
