Late Arrival

Janne and Erica arrived at 03:15 and were greeted by Isabella who was sleeping outside. Their rental car had little fuel so they had a Wild Goose Chase filling up at the only all-night filling station near Chania. Even with a local guide, it took some while.

I’d been amusing myself with a rerun of Dexter amongst other things.

I regretted not taking my coat so the first walk was curtailed as I was getting chilly. The boys were happy to go inside although Skinny came out again.

The girls and Skinny did another turn of the Promontory and then I rode over Panorama and around Paleochora just for exercise.

I was having difficulty getting motivated so went down to check out my two departures before feeding the dogs and sitting down. Only later did the DDs get started.

Janne was unable to get electricity from the shared connection so plugged into the camping supply. I checked it out but the new RCBO tripped each time we tried to connect. They were busy setting up and needed to go shopping so, following another abortive experiment, I connected their supply to one of the MCBs relying on the main RCD to provide fault protection. Not ideal but that wasn’t the time for experimentation. There is a fault somewhere at their end I suspect.

I enjoyed the afternoon sunshine but the wind is still cold and a little blustery at times.

I completed processing the DDs and declined Fika as I surmised they were being polite but had really had enough. We’ll do Fika tomorrow.

I was about to write this when Toni informed me of customers next to his van. They came in the service entrance, I showed them the camping and shoved them in Bay 3 for the night. They’ll decide if they stay longer tomorrow. I’m ambivalent especially to customers who arrive at 19:30! They live in Sicily but seem to expect Crete not to be windy!

Not a warm day and often windy but with plenty of sunshine.
