Washing

Murder On The Orient Express with Hercule and adverts entertained me. I leap up and did things associated with eating during the adverts so, in a way, they were useful.

There was no wind in the morning but I wore a coat as it didn’t seem too warm to begin with. The moon made a better attempt today since there was a lot less cloud about. It seemed very light at 06:30 which was very pleasant.

The girls raced after the ball around the Promontory and we crossed the rocks once more. The sky was clear and it was wonderfully sunny so I’d disposed of my coat. There was a van parked on the beach and the car but little else.

I rode over Panorama whilst playing with the heart rate monitor on my watch. I think I made it to Level 4 for a little while at least. I had to work harder as I only remembered I’d not charged the batteries when I woke up. A little too late by then.

I shopped at Petrakis as tomorrow morning might be windy and I can get ahead with the DDs if I have everything to hand. I had a good ride back and the batteries still had a little in reserve. I have since put them on the timer to charge during the night ready for tomorrow morning.

I fed the dogs then went to collect money from the Italian couple. We engaged in polite conversation for a while whereupon I was distracted by Nina requesting the washing machine. In all, there have been four washes today. Two for Nina and two for Chesmo. He has taken down his winter encampment and left everything with Toni so I understand.

Skinny came for a love-in so I decided to brush him, Maya and Oskar. Between them they’re probably quite a lot lighter and the birds will have more nest-building material. There is plenty of bird song in the mornings with loads of small birds flitting around to the amusement of Sasha and Isabella.

I returned from one of my washing machine trips to discover the dogs were barking at some sheep which had found their way into the camping and were grazing nonchalantly. I invited the sheep to return to the field which they did speedily but in disorder.

Whilst rearranging things in my cupboard, formerly the bathroom, I discovered some wretched rodent had been investigating a packet of spaghetti. I’ve since relocated the rodent bait box and replenished the bait. No more kid gloves as far as rodents are concerned as they’re a pain in the bottom.

The guy who phoned yesterday about bringing his kids arrived and is now in Bay 5. He has a dog so hopefully, there will be no barking competition between him and the bears. They are staying one night only which is why I shoved them in bay 5. Kids, dog, truck and all out of the way.

With the number of washes, the day has been fragmented although I’ve managed to get some things done including preparing for the month end. The camping is quite empty so I doubt there will be too many arrivals and departures between now and the end of the month.

Tomorrow is forecast to be a little windy at the beginning and end of the day but the middle should be much calmer. The air drifting around my feet right now is quite chilly.

The dogs are trying to tell me it’s teatime I suspect.

One degree warmer than yesterday and mostly very calm. There is a chill in the air blowing around my feet.
The bougainvillea is flowering well. Thanks, perhaps, to the magic potion…
