Power Outage

Isabella, Sasha and Skinny went out in the middle of the night however, I hadn’t realised that Isabella was out until the other two were in, so I was delighted to have to get up again to let her in.

There was little wind and it was warmer on our walk. Only one pair of gloves and I even undid my jacket a couple of times! The wind is still cold especially when it’s cloudy. Nothing new here.

All dogs reported at all meeting places and we were back just after seven and around eight after the second walk. Only Isabella and Sasha went today as Luis was recovering from his increased activity the day before.

An unlikely union

I rode into Paleochora once I’d lubed my chain, seat post and other parts of my bike. It was great not to have bits of me squeaking. I didn’t have to stop so I was back in good time. I was getting low on battery so glad the wind followed me back.

I heard that Swiss Chris was leaving so went to see him to collect his money. Frank I has paid and will leave tomorrow. Anke says she will return to Germany for some while at the end of the month so will leave me a large bag of cat food for the time she’s away. Let’s hope she returns or the Grammeno cat population will increase exponentially.

The power went off as planned and resumed around three, slightly later than I expected. I put a blanket in the wash for Anke. Frank received a package which I hid in his aluminium trunk away from the pussies.

A Danish woman came to see the camping with a view to staying a month. I’d told her the camping is 5km from Paleochora and that without some means of transport, life might be problematic. She decided to look for accommodation in Paleochora after walking back. I’d tried to save her the trouble but she seemed determined to see the camping for herself.

It was quite sunny and warm under the awning until it became cloudier and windier. Otherwise, a rather unproductive day.

Some useful stats: as of tomorrow, the population of the camping will be 5/8 Finnish. If there are no new arrivals before the return of Jarno, it will become 66.6% Finnish!

1ºC cooler than yesterday due to the northerly wind and increased cloud
