Spring?

After some detailed examination of the weather forecast, I extracted myself from my bed and started the get dressed. The forecast was a little more optimistic than previously although I was keen to get out to stay ahead of the situation.

We were a little later out of the gate but made up with a brisk pace so were soon at Plakaki and walking back. Only the van with the dog remains and the dog seemed a little less vocal than usual.

I kept a close eye on the weather however there were only a few drops of rain before we got back to the camping so I was soon on my bike riding into Paleochora. I could see renewed activity at the rockfall where some excavators have been waiting to start for some days.

I rode directly to the bakery to be sure of getting some bread and also some sandwiches for Bona’s boys. She called me whilst I was out with the dogs to ask if I’d be going to the bakery. I decided it wouldn’t rain soon so doubled back to ride over Panorama and round my daily course. There was a little gentle rain but I got back without excessive dampness.

I delivered Bona’s sandwiches and hooch then went back to chill my brain before releasing and feeding the dogs. I made tea and sat down for a while until being called away to check-out the Swiss family which has been here for five nights.

The sky become darker, eventually it started to rain and has continued to do so since around midday. I didn’t do a lot in the afternoon other than shift the expected arrival to different accommodation as the Germans are staying on in Ξ2. It’s generally uninspiring and quite cool despite the temperature remaining around 16ºC.

The dogs are inside after their supper with only Sasha outside checking that all of the bowls are completely clean. I’m just waiting for my food to finish cooking and that will be that for the day now that the arrivals have arrived. A couple on a motorcycle now staying in Ξ6 so that they can benefit from the evening sunshine (!).

Much cooler than yesterday for much of the afternoon and early evening. More unsettled weather is forecast for tomorrow.
