Bang!

I was in Brighton last night with Grace who was solving multiple murders associated with organ harvesting from undocumented refugees. I didn’t think such things happened in Brighton, certainly not in Hove (actually).

Luis was racing around at 04:30 so not much sleeping took place after than. At least he eventually shut up when asked. I think there may have been some rodent activity outside or somewhere in the van.

There were loads of stars as the moon won’t be with us for a little while. One of the fascinations of this time of year is the abundance of little birds twittering and tweeting first thing in the mornings. That said, I’ve not heard the frogs recently.

The little car and tent which have been present since the weekend have departed leaving an interestingly-smelling space for the dogs to explore. They were not allowed to go near the tent so as not to disturb the occupants.

I rode to Paleochora stopping at Petrakis for carrots and a number of other items particularly for the DDs. There was a new girl on the deli counter who didn’t know what to do when I handed her a full plastic bottle of lentils. She eventually worked out it was for weighing and pricing. The ride back was against the wind so a little longer than going out.

I had three departures and one arrival however only the Dutch lady actually left as we swapped one family member for another and the van remains for a couple more days. They said they didn’t even want the cabin cleaned as it was ‘family’. The other arrival is the daughter and granddaughter of customers who’ve been here for over a month. The daughter will stay in T1 as T2 is not in a lettable condition at present as it’s awaiting repair and some new fittings.

I washed a couple of stinky dog blankets which will not be dry for tonight so Obi may need to make alternative sleeping arrangements. Otherwise, I don’t seem to have achieved much other than order some stuff from Skroutz, notably, some AirTags. Having misplaced my keys recently I decided it would only be a matter of time before they became more seriously lost. AirTags are not like a tracker as they require an iPhone to be within BlueTooth range. As I have two master keys, the fallout would not be worth thinking about if the keys were lost. I’m sure that if Georgia loses hers it would be discretely covered up.

I was getting ready to feed the dogs when Maria called to say there were customers at receptions. It was only when I spoke to the customer I found she called the Google Business number which I changed so as not to receive calls for summer bookings on Sunday evenings. There are two couples in VW campers who decided to occupy the tent area next to the beach. They seemed sure they’d fit in so I left them to it and went to feed the dogs who were suitably grateful.

There was a large explosion as the latest and largest Space-X starship launched following a failure to separate as expected. At least the craft got off the ground although it didn’t make it into space.

Warmer than yesterday despite the wind and clouds. The weather is from the west and likely to be unsettled for the next couple of days.
