Sasha and Maya reunited

There was water on the decking which was hardly surprising as I heard some rain in the night. There were two showers delivering 1mm between them. The sky was cloudy above the mountains but there was no forecast for further rain as I checked before parting with my bed.

With the cloud, it seemed dark but it wasn’t long before I could see enough to do away with the torch. Only a few more days and the sun starts to rise later!

There were only three vehicles and none in the car park although one arrived just after we did. It had gone by the time we’d walked the length of The Promontory and back. Otherwise, our walk was uneventful except for a lone man reading the notices at around 06:15: (as one does) and a fisher person on the rocks.

I fed Moggy and Ginger then exercised my brain before finally riding into Paleochora over Panorama. No shopping was needed as that was done yesterday. I learned later there had been howling in my absence which could only have come from Sasha. Xanthippos was delighted to inform me and provide a couple of very convincing demonstrations.

The day became warmer and I loafed in my chair finally moving around as the new hour approached. Maria called to ask me to come to reception to communicate with a French couple looking for accommodation. There were only larger cabins available and I know they’re poorly equipped so I warned the couple off. Being the sole French-speaker at present, I was quite safe saying whatever I liked. The couple presumably found accommodation elsewhere.

I played with Ginger a bit and Moggy followed me to the reception whereupon I explained to Maria he was like my shadow. Ginger has the door to his accommodation open so he can go in and out however he still needs to learn to shit outside. Not as if he can’t manage the step even.

I think I fell asleep a couple of times however it was quite warm.

Later, Bona called to say she’d had trouble with both AirB&B neighbours about Maya so together we went back to her place as it was her finishing time anyway.

Maya was tied up in the yard on her own and I doubt she’d had much of a walk recently. She’s bored so she barks in the night and digs up the garden which makes things worse. She’s a fine girl but they just are not able to manage her properly. She was all over me as I tried to take her and very keen to go for a walk. The complete opposite to Sasha who I had to carry for a while just to get some peace. Carrying Maya would not have been an option or a necessity.

The two of us walked around the Promontory just to burn off some energy and then back to the camping. She was speeding up as we approached the gate from the field to the camping. After some initial excitement they settled down so now only the cicadas are making more noise.

She’s not stayed over recently so there was plenty of barking from Oskar and silly noises from Isabella. After all, introducing a new dog during the walk and them all coming back knackered is far the better way.

After the initial three-way excitement between Isabella, Sasha and Maya, Isabella went off back under the awning and the sisters have been catching up with plenty of playful fooling around. I can see that Maya is back to her usual trick of bathing in the water bowl so I’d better get the blue bath back into operation for her bathing routines. Now the three of them will wear each other out. Tomorrow, I’ll probably just take the three of them out again once I’ve landed the boys. Back to carrying two remotes again I suppose. Hopefully, Bona’s boys will keep themselves amused walking Sasha and Maya during the holidays. That will help matters.

Maya relaxing

The cicadas have been noisily enjoying the sunny but intermittently cloudy weather although they’ve just fallen silent now. Plenty of punters have been in the camping and some are staying longer than just the weekend. Next weekend is the holiday and pagan celebrations by the Swedes to celebrate the Solstice. I was reminded of this speaking to Janne yesterday evening.

Warmer than yesterday with plenty of sunshine later in the day. Occasionally windy in the morning and evening.
