Spring is springing!

Over the last couple of weeks, I have been able to hear the birds twittering in the trees. Now, this afternoon, there seems to be quite a few Cicada active in the trees – competing with the birds no doubt.
I hope they have their little scarves with them because now we have a chilly north wind which is lowering the daytime temperatures. I noticed that there was a lot more snow on the peaks of the mountains too. More than I think I have seen ever. There are lots of little pink flowers and many other plants are coming into bloom.

As there are some people on the camping, I have taken to going out onto the further beach with the dogs mid-morning for a little ball and some running around. Yesterday there were some people quietly fishing until the puppies struck. They made the mistake of petting them so they were pestered quite a long time. This morning I met the parents of the lad I met on the beach before Christmas. They have now returned from their trip to New Zealand and have sorted him out for his studies later. Being a Greek, he has to do nine months of military service so will be going away after than now, so I understand.
I had a meeting with Georgia yesterday about ways in which we could bring more customers to the camping. Unfortunately, she is still suffering from her leg problem so we were not able to do as much as we might have. At the same time, I met a guy who bought some equipment in the UK last year, sent the money and it never arrived. He has given me the paperwork and I am doing a little research for him in an attempt to see where his money went. I fear he has been a victim of fraud. €7,020 is a lot to lose!

So there you have it from darkest Crete!
