The dog is found!

We loafed in bed until 06:00 as there had been rain and I felt there might be more. The promontory walk was windless and with only six dogs as Obi’d decided to absent himself.

We didn’t get too far along Alonáki Beach as the way was blocked by the water crossing the beach from the river. The rain from the mountains had found its way down to sea level. I didn’t fancy wet feet so we did an about-turn and went back for another tour of the Promontory. Once completed, we returned to the camping as I felt it might be an idea to take advantage of the early return by going into Paleochora.

I rode in and discovered it was chillier than I’d anticipated and might have been better off with a coat. I completed my shopping including a 5kg bag of flour for sourdough bread-making if I can finally get the starter to start. I left it a little late for the starter as it’s cooler now so the little yeasts are not so active. I had to leave my conversation with Yiannis so as to get back before the 09:00 road closure.

I had a quick look for Obi then released and fed the dogs. I was preparing my breakfast when Obi returned via the field gate. Naughty Obi!

We had a new arrival in the camping who spent last night camped out in his van on Alonáki Beach. He’s only here for one night as he wants a shower and perhaps some company. I suggested he might park up next to the Swiss so they can play nicely together.

I don’t feel I’ve done very much today as I’ve only changed a gas bottle and wandered around the camping a little. I’ve had some support calls and was working on a computer until the connection became so slow I lost the will to live so have abandoned. I also discovered why the kitchen camera wasn’t working as the power had tripped out for some reason.

The evening walk took a little longer as the guy who lost his dog came to talk to me. We now have a system whereby they stick to Grammeno Beach and leave the Promontory to me as previously, they were on the beaches and the Promontory making it almost impossible for me to avoid them. The little dog was found at Plakaki.

I’m waiting for my supper to finish as I only put it on to cook once we were back from the Evening Walk which ended later than expected due to my conversation.

I noticed the low was 11.7C but it was nice not to have wind for a change. The sea was a little rough so I’m not sure there were too many swimmers.
