Autumn Clean

No shortage of strong wind during the night ensured plenty of banging on the metal roof from the carob branches. I came very close to cutting them today. Maybe next time…

The doggies were much more enthusiastic about going out into a cool, dark and very windy morning than I. We made good progress to the end of the Promontory and battled against the wind to Azzuro and back. It was interesting to watch the moon rise above the mountains behind Paleochora. It’s almost at the end of the current cycle so only a small portion is illuminated however I could easily see the form of the remainder of Earth’s largest satellite.

I watched a light moving slowly up the east side of the Promontory and assumed it might be Ursula. The dogs knew better as they remained with me as we walked up the Promontory for the second time. After looking around to see that Ursula wasn’t there, we set off back to the camping.

I made tea and did things before riding up the mountain and into Paleochora where I purchased a cheese pie for Tony. I dropped off the pie and returned to the dogs to release and feed them.

The day has been generally windy but also very sunny. I spent time sorting out the space at the rear of the van. Clearing out useless stuff and moving things from the decking area to there. Not terribly exciting but needed to be done in preparation for the winter.

Tony and Ursula were in darkest Paleochora being tourists and eating lunch out but they returned in time for tea at 17:00. Tomorrow, we are eating at Third Eye in the evening with Janne and Erica then Ursula is hosting Fika on Thursday afternoon. One endless round of social engagements. They return to UK on Friday.

Warm and sunny but rather blowy after a chilly and windy start to the day
There’s a certain amount of weather over Sicily which could well drift over this direction but will probably end up over the mainland
