Another Great Early Morning

Gavdos is now yellow and most of the remainder of Greece is at Level 5.
Gavdos is the yellow bit

Another beautiful morning with abundant moonlight and almost no wind. It wasn’t too warm so we kept a good pace over the rocks and then down to the river which is still too wide to cross. It has undergone various changes and is now hiding behind a sandbank created by the waves. The sea and river appear to be falling out again.

The two crazies amused each other to the relief of the smaller dogs. Skinny contented himself by going on his little missions and remaining ahead of the crowd. I did my best to prevent the dogs from wandering onto the beach to devour the cadaver.

Back at the ranch, I fed the cats after making some tea, then sat down to exercise my mind for a while. I took the crazies out for another walk and Isabella mislaid the ball only metres from the gate as we were coming back. Maybe she’ll remember where she left it tomorrow.

I had a washing machine appointment at 09:00 which morphed into two appointments as there was so much. I fed the dogs, prepared the DDs and had some breakfast. With the LaundryCam I’m able to see the remaining time on the display so relaxed until the machine was within two minutes of finishing.

Sandra and Sonja announced they’d be taking their van into Paleochora so offered to pick up some pet food. A handy offer as Heike took delivery of a new stock yesterday. They brought back 60kg of pet food saving me three journeys. Sonia’s puncture was still not repaired so I left it to their Dutch neighbours to help out. I felt it might go some way to enhancing their relationship. Sonja and Sandra are leaving for Reykjavik on Saturday and the Dutch plan to leave on Monday.

I sorted out the pet food and then rode into Petrakis for some bananas and some gas as the weekend is going to be cold and one of the punters is bound to run out. It’s likely to be cloudy so I might need to use gas for heating too.

I took Isabella and The Rug for another tour of the Promontory and then we called it a day. The dogs were fed before 17:30 and we were inside shortly after and it was still light!

I have some little jobs to complete tomorrow. Tax returns need to be completed before the end of the month so I have to help Matthew with his calculation taking into account the CoVID grants which will complicate matters. My return will be straightforward enough. There’s also some support work for Inter Sport as one of their tills is playing up.

A clear and dry start developed into a warm, sunny day. Friday and Saturday are looking wet, and chilly from Saturday with lows of 2ºC during the first part of next week!
