The First Of The Statics Arrives

More cloud this morning but Venus just about made it through. It was quite dark so it was handy having so many flashing dogs. I’m sure they stay nearer when they have lights and it’s much easier for me to keep track of them.

The river was still going strong not that it was easy to see as it was still quite dark despite dawn making a valiant effort to make a difference. The second tour was without incident so we were back at the van before seven. I had another wash booked for Niclas who ended up doing three altogether. I took Isabella out once the machine was on, then rode into town to pick up some provisions from Petrakis and to visit the chemist to get some of those little brushes for getting into those difficult spaces between the teeth and under my bridge. I eat quite a few nuts, seeds and grains which tend to get jammed in awkward locations but at €5.80 for eight I might get a water flosser instead.

I was back at the camping before the wash concluded and wanted to fix a problem with Litsa’s TV connection to the Internet. I left Niclas to wait for the machine to finish and put in his next wash.

I fed the dogs and then prepared the DDs for this evening. I was about to have a somewhat belated breakfast when Niclas asked if he could put on yet more washing! Three washes for the same family making five in all. Apparently, all of their stuff is now clean.

I spent much of the day fiddling around with one of the computers at Inter Sport which has been moved across the road above Cook so is now using a VPN to connect to the IS server. Usually, this is not much of a problem and requires a few configuration changes and everything works. I’ve fixed most of the problems but one is particularly annoying but quite interesting so has kept me amused.

There has been quite a bit of activity on the camping due to the arrival of the first of the static vans which Georgia recently purchased. I thought she said it was one of her’s however it’s at the top of the camping and is for a couple of friends/customers who are regular visitors. They decided to have their own van onsite permanently so that they can come and go as they please. They will no doubt reconfigure the interior as it’s optimised for the number of beds. The delivery process was not without difficulty and has taken up much of the day. To cap it off, the door lock has jammed so they’re unable to get in to show off their aquisition.

Kirsti took Isabella out for a walk which was handy as it saves me doing likewise. The day has been calm but overcast, not cold but also not overly warm. The dogs have been annoyingly barky so some have been told off a couple of times or confined inside.

Mostly overcast but not cold with some brief sunny intervals late in the afternoon. Tomorrow looks about the same
