Spoilt Rotten

Crisis for Luis in the night as he needed to go out twice for urgent gastric emergencies. Unlike Fido, who usually just wishes to go for a wander, Luis had a real need. Despite these interruptions my slumbers were not significantly disturbed.

It seemed a little darker as we walked across the field. I’d made sure Obi was wearing his collar and I kept close tabs on him in case he might feel the urge to wander. He was ahead of the others as we came back to the field so he had no intention it would seem. Luis had been absent for each stop on the walk and was to be found ’singing’ gently in the field gateway. He stopped when we approached and has been reasonably quiet and compliant for the remainder of the day without need to dash off for any reason.

I took the girlies which provided my right arm with plenty of exercise opportunity. Isabella decided she needed an abundance of running and activity which included leaping into the air to catch the ball mid-flight. My right shoulder and arm are recovering as are my bruised ribs but I’m still not able to launch the ball as far as I’d wish. She appeared suitably puffed by the time we got back but was still wishing to chase the ball around the compound. After a short break, I went off on my bike up the mountain and around Paleochora with a stop at Anatoli for a ‘Black’ loaf.

I fed the dogs then sat and drank tea for a while. Quite a while as I lost the will to get on with preparing the Doggy Dinners for later. I finally levered myself into action so they will have something to eat later as Skinny made it perfectly plain last week that industrial kibble was unacceptable.

My day has been without precise goal although I’ve been doing quite a few exercises to improve mobility in my shoulders and arms. With a painful shoulder and limited enthusiasm, things have taken a retrograde step so now is the time to pick up and get back my fitness. Not to say that I haven’t done useful things just none that I can think of other than the DDs.

The day has been warm but not excessively so. I remembered to get a shower before the sun went too far round so had plenty of hot water but not scaldingly so as it can be on some days.

Around five, I sauntered to the kitchen to be awarded an array of delights. The main course is all about spinach and rice with potatoes, Manos gave me a dessert consisting of profiteroles and dark chocolate. Dimitris was also in the kitchen, he grabbed the radio used to communicate with the bar and asked for the fastest server to rush me a grapefruit cocktail from the cold cupboard. With my collection of comestibles, I returned to the van to gorge myself!

The DDs are now processed and everything is on the table ready for the rice. The dogs are waiting reasonably patiently and Sasha is in with Isabella to release some energy on both of their parts.

Hot and sunny with little wind after a breezy start
