Happy Birthday Ursula!

Fortunately, I was awake and managed to get up well before the alarm as there was lots to do. The FreeLoader with the SUV was still present so we avoided the Big Beach in both directions. It was a lot cooler but quite still or it might have been cold. Our walk was completed and we were back well before seven.

After a brief interval, I took the girls for their second walk then checked Ursula’s position to discover she was not far from Palechora. I rode up the mountain and around my workout route stopping at Petrakis to order dog food which beat me back! I then met up with Tony and Ursula at a nearby café where there also happened to be a Fluffy Dog. She’d last seem me three years ago as her visits were curtailed due to Covid. Even though I was wearing sunglasses, which usually cause her to bark uncontrollably, she just wagged and licked for what seemed like ages. No need for me to have a shower for a month or so! During the course of our conversation, she came back for a couple of action-replays just to be certain. I think Heidi possibly remembers me…

I soon departed to get back to the camping leaving Tony to finish his coffee and drive to Grammeno with Ursula and Heidi. I was at reception as was Maria who handed their key to them having welcomed them.

I went back to see if Janne and Erica had surfaced as they arrived in the early hours. So silent was their arrival that Sasha, who was outside with Isabella and Obi, only made a few half-hearted woofs to ward them off. I had doggy dinners to organise as well as deliver some items to Ξ3.

Later, I went to collect my various bits and pieces which Ursula kindly brought out from UK. Having had two recent bicycle events, I finally invested in a skid lid. Whilst checking this later, I discovered it was from a Swedish company in Stockholm so I’d asked the wrong friends to bring it! It was manufactured in China, surprise, surprise, for a Swedish company whose UK branch has their EU distribution located in The Netherlands! From China to Stockholm to The Netherlands to UK then to Greece via France and Italy.

I had a delivery from ACS after their local office called to ask if I’d like to collect or have the package delivered. The nice man called from reception, which happened to be closed, so I went up to collect the package containing indicators and additional rear lights for my bike. The lights are controlled from a bar-mounted switch which activates the lights remotely so no need for any wiring!

The next job was to put some washing on for myself as I’ve been washing stuff by hand but there were bigger items to do. I took a wash for Ursula later too. In between times, I’ve arranged to take Sasha and Maya to the vets when they come next having Anna and I convinced Bona that sterilisation is a good idea. She’d heard the Old Wives’ Tail that a bitch should produce a litter before sterilisation – how many more unwanted puppies would there be! She wasn’t too enamoured by the thought of every male in the district coming to visit for each season.

The washing is dry, my supper is ready, the DDs are processed so here we go!

Warm and calm but not too hot
