Arrivals!

Sitting on the side of my bed getting dressed when the sound of falling water interrupted my composure. I’d previously perused the weather forecast to assure myself it wouldn’t rain on us. The drops continued for a few seconds so I finished dressing.

Once the dogs were almost ready to go out, the rain started again so I was afraid rain might stop play but it quickly stopped so off we jolly well, as someone once said.

The sky was mostly cloudy so the stars as well as the moon were struggling to make their presence felt. The eight of us completed our walk to Plakaki and back without incident although there were distant flashes and some rumbling. Skinny wasn’t really enjoying himself so stuck close to me. We crossed the rocks once more and went back to the van.

I set off with the three girls and the ball. Only the ball got itself mislaid and didn’t manage to come back. We did, however.

It was beginning to rain a little as we crossed the field and, soon after, a few millimetres fell accompanied by some thunder and flashes.

It brightened up and Jorma took Sasha as today’s dog of the day. I decided to exercise my brain and put off bike riding until later.

I spent a lot of time on the computer finding casters for the proposed battery container. With each of the sixteen batteries weighting ten kilos you don’t need to be much of a mathematician to work out that the casters need to support 160kg plus the weight of the inverter which I’d like to fix to the front of the arrangement. The idea is to make it a self contained unit with the cable from the PV and the one to supply the power as the only ones trailing out.

A German couple arrived. They’d already visited the camping and spoken to Frank so we simply put them in the place they’d decided upon. I was in the middle of putting on a machine for Jan with the Setra. He spoke to me later about leaving his bus when he goes off abroad for a little while to avoid winter.

I went for a bike ride to the top of the mountain and back

Another German couple arrived who plan to stay two nights only.

I’ve ordered casters and asked Antonis to get some metal delivered for Jorma. We decided the ground was too wet for grovelling under the van earlier.

The weather looks unpredictable for a few days.

A damp start which turned into a sunny, dry day once the weather decided itself.
Some unsettled weather on the way
