Maria Visits

Amazingly, we were going out of the gate just after five-thirty. I wasn’t wearing a coat and didn’t need one even though it was slightly breezy walking over the rocks. I kept an eye on the dogs as we walked to Plakaki, especially Obi who seems to be behaving himself. Shortly after, the various parked motorhomes and vans loomed out of the darkness on the road back to the car park.

Five vans are parked along the beach and in the car park. Soon to be joined by Freddy who may not yet have left the camping. All the dogs were present when we returned to the van between the walks.

I took the girls just after seven so we were back by half-past whereupon I rode to Paleochora over Panorama. It seems strange not to see Anke’s car parked at the top of the ramp leading to where her caravan used to be. I bought some vegetables at Petrakis and then returned to let out the dogs even though it was only 08:45. Fido walked Jorma whilst I fed the others. He was quick to remind me he’d not been fed when he brought Jorma back.

There are fewer Norsemen as the Danes left to continue their trip around the island. They’ve extended their van rental to Monday to make up for the two extra nights at Grammeno. Jan put in another wash having only done one a couple of days ago. Surely all of their clothes are now clean!I chatted to Mickey and then returned Jan’s wash so he could enjoy hanging it all up!

I had a few conversations with Simon who’d bought himself the latest IPhone for the price of a small family saloon. His cast off will go to Jean.

I had a phone call from Maria ostensibly in Athens to find her lurking with Litsa and Xanthippos. She soon went off [late] for a meal with Martha. She returned the keys to T1 and took a TV from T4. I don’t know how long Maria will be staying.

Marie-Christine’s friend called to say they would be bringing the van today only to later to say they were drowning in administration so would put it off until tomorrow or the day after. I’m easy.

Anke was back from her Greek lesson bringing more of her possessions from her former abode. She tells me today is the anniversary of her birth.

Having spent quite a bit of the day in the camping I returned to the dogs and finished off Simon’s iPhone backup. We’re inside even though it’s not dark as it’s nor really warm enough to sit outside once the sun is setting. Today, it’s possible to see all of the planets in the Solar System at dusk. I’ve been there earlier in the year as I could view them all before sunrise. In sixteen years time, I’ll be able to see it again!

It was still and warm with plenty of sunshine
