Sore Head

The forecast promised fine weather so I emerged from my pit and we were off on our diurnal travels. The sky was clear and the moon was bright. Luis kept up, following a little encouragement, so we were soon over the rocks and walking up to Plakaki. Isabella managed to get into one of the gardens and steal a bone from their dog. She tried the same game on the return but I was watching her so she soon came out again. Luis didn’t quite make it to Plakaki in a reasonable time however I rewarded him with some biscuits when he met me.

It was still quite chilly as we completed the next circuit on The Promontory where daylight revealed another camper in addition to the Hymer and the BB. I took them all back and then out with the ladies.

We had a ball and I was carrying the thrower. Isabella lost the ball on the way back and I didn’t get to throw it once.

My Trip to Paleochora included a loaf and a Petrakis visit for the DDs most of all. The store was not at all full. Yiannis was sorting through the mandarins outside the store. He popped a couple into my bag so I helped him sort through the rest. Like most fruit, one bad ‘Apple’ causes the remainder to perish. I ended up with more as I went on my way. Giving all his profits away!

I fed dogs, made DDs and then washed up the pans containing the stuffed tomatoes and fakes brought to me during the week. Last night, I ate the remainder of the stuffed tomatoes with a portion of big beans. Tonight, it’s a long-overdue salad with mixed beans and lentils.

I put washes on for Maciej and we chatted a while. He was trying out his new camera and tripod. He showed me his gimbal too! When a man shows you his gimbal this must mean something.

Kirsti came to pick up Isabella and Jorma had Fido and planned to take Luis if he’d found another lead. I took the opportunity to take Sasha onto The Promontory for a walk with the ball and thrower. She overheated at one point so disappeared, into the sea. I joined her to recover the ball as, unlike Isabella, she’s still learning about her craft. When Isabella is present she is immediately subordinate so never gets near the ball. I very careless threw it into some bushes so, unlike Isabella who will do whatever it takes to recover the ball, Sasha gave up after some initial interest. Isabella met us as we came through the field gate; I felt we’d walked far enough on the Promontory so didn’t go all the way around the block.

Bona came to clean T3 so I helped her in exchange for some small cucumbers. I took several and gave some to Kirsti as I walked back to feed the dogs.

Once again, we’re all inside the van as it’s now dark outside. Obi has taken to spending the nights in the van following Fido’s departure. I’m not sure why he’s changed his habits as he was on good terms with Obi.

I bashed my head on the overhead lockers last night. Sasha moved as I was coming back to my seat so it was a choice to head-but the lockers or step on Sasha. Both Isabella and Sasha are on the benches this evening leaving Skinny and Luis on the floor. Obi is above the gas locker on a fleecy blanket. One of Fido’s haunts. I’ve met Fido several times today and he’s very waggy and attentive yet he’s happy with his new family away from the Crazy Gang.

Following a clear and chilly morning, the day developed into a warm and sunny one with no wind.
