Less Chilly

The wind died down during the night yet it was not at all warm but felt warmer with less windchill. We didn’t go for our walk until later and it was getting light as we walked towards Plakaki. Our guest has returned and was part of the party.

I came out again with the three girls and we had a speedy additional lap of the Promontory. There was some very welcome sun but it was still early making the physical difference less than the psychological one.

I needed to go into Paleochora so jumped on my bike with a stop at the bakery and Petrakis. There were not many customers in either however the general consensus in Petrakis was that I need garters to hold my socks up seeing as I insist on wearing shorts despite the cold.

I could see more cloud approaching as I rode back towards the camping so the likelihood of significant electricity generation from the sun seemed remote.

Our guest was still with us so I fed all the dogs although Iera didn’t want any food. I thinks she gets a lot of tinned meat which may not agree with her digestion. She chomped down the standard evening [cooked] meal this evening.

I started the DDs for later and then sat down inside with some tea as outside was still too cold. Not helped by the very cold northerly wind blowing through the ripped windows of the awning tent.

There was a small IT task for Mr Lawrence and then I got on with other stuff including trying to find worms for my composting loo. It’s easy to find them in UK, Germany and France however it appears there’s a problem shipping them internationally although not from the US as there are plenty of outlets selling on eBay.com.

I wandered the camping to see if stuff was working and to show my face. After all, it wasn’t raining so no excuse not to wander.

There were some sunny intervals but too short to be useful at the most effective time of the day. In all, a massive 4.2kWh was produced but this related to little overall gain as far as charging the battery was concerned. The current battery SOC (State Of Charge) is 45% so hopefully, there will be more sun tomorrow to give a decent charge.

I took the ginger/white cat to see Andrea as he is responsible for dosing her with antibiotics. The dogs were munching their dinners at this point and I’d prepared mine for when the pot would be free. Lots of smelly food tonight: Potatoes, broccoli, cauliflower and runner beans. A repeat of a couple of nights ago. I live dangerously!

Today felt warmer as it was often less windy however the wind was still very cold and very northerly. But at least it wasn’t raining!

A couple of degrees warmer than yesterday, which appeared cold because of the wind and the rain. At least today was dry!
