Uneventful Sunday

There was a lot of fidgeting as it was a warm night and I ended up under just a sheet at one point. I got up, having first checked the weather, and we were soon on our way.

The sky was very cloudy, the wind had changed to the southwest so the sea was noisy from the Grammeno Beach side. Crossing the rocks was a little breezy but the dogs were keeping up so we made short work of it. We were soon at Plakaki and back to The Promontory where, by now, it was light. We passed a fisherman with his head buried in the boot of his car with a torch. He was dog-friendly and insisted on calling the dogs to him.

Skinny joined the girls for the second walk and we discovered yet another fisherman as we came back. Another dog-friendly one!

I rode over Panorama stopping at the bakery and then back to Grammeno. It was warm despite the wind.

I fed the dogs then started on the DD’s which didn’t take that long as I’d prepared some of it the day before. I eventually got to sit down with my iPad and a cup of tea. It was still cloudy and the forecast predicted rain in the late afternoon and early evening.

The Swiss couple with the small baby checked out to continue their exploration of the island with a visit to Elafonissi.

The couple in T5 are checking out tomorrow and wished to pay. I took their money and we chatted a little while. They will return in a couple of weeks with two other couples so I’ll need to sort out some accommodation for them.

Bona came to clean one of the rooms by the reception as there is someone coming to help Toni in a few days. Toni and Georgia had a meeting the other day so it will be interesting to see the staffing arrangements for the coming season.

I fixed up an interesting little camera for Tarti who gave me 10€ for the pleasure. Their smallest boy was also there. He was amusing the cats so I took him down to see Maciej because he wanted to see the smallest of the pussies camped out in Maciej’s van. I chatted a while with Maciej then my young assistant came to feed the pussies and see Sasha who he declared had grown since he last saw her. At this point, I sent him off as it was getting late, the doggy rice wasn’t even on and I had yet to process the DDs.

It was getting dark by the time I came to feed them and I even needed to turn the light on. Fortunately, my meal was a mega-salad with chickpeas, which had been put on to cook just after five this morning, so little preparation required. Planning ahead…

The afternoon, which should have been cloudy with the possibility of rain, turned out to be sunny and warm. Convenient as it meant I could fall asleep.

Warmer than yesterday which was quite unexpected given the pessimistic forecast. Tomorrow and Tuesday morning are looking very windy. At least we’re not having rain…
