Quite Busy

I carefully checked the weather forecast before leaving my bed as there’d been talk of the possibility of early rain. Some rain had fallen and there were some pretty black clouds partially covering the moon which has been visible in the morning for a few days.

There were just a few spots of rain and it seemed to get light quite early considering the amount of cloud. Luis managed to keep up and made it to the Plakaki rocks which we visited on the first trip out there. He didn’t make it all of the way the second time but it was a good effort anyway.

There were lots of black clouds and spots of rain so I concluded a shorter trip might be better. I went straight to Anatoli and Petrakis as it’s DD day today so I bought a cauliflower. I noticed that Broccoli was priced something stupid. There was also some decent fresh ginger so I picked up some of that too.

I knew the Czechs were planning to leave so went to collect their money once I was back at the camping. They were telling me of their visits to Azogires and other mountain villages which were either deserted or had only one or two residents. The German couple with the kids had yet another load for the washing machine so I emptied the sheets in the machine to accommodate that. I then hung up the sheets as Bona didn’t seem to have much space for hanging stuff up.

I set the DDs going and finally managed to sit down with a cup of tea. It wasn’t long before the French guy came to tell me they would stay a third night. They seem a pleasant couple who like the cats, Parrot Cat seems to have adopted them.

I returned the washing to the German couple and then put in the remaining towels which are now hanging on my line but are probably dry. Bona called to tell me a German couple were at reception and wanted some information about a winter stay. They’d visited the camping on their own so just needed some details. I showed them the Common Room and they say they’ll probably come back in the autumn as this visit is just research. Apparently, they have recently retired.

The air conditioning guys have been in to clean the twenty-odd air conditioners scattered about the camping. Some are quite old and inefficient. I remember cleaning the air conditioners at RSH as they rapidly got clogged with dust and debris as the one in the server room ran constantly. Seemed silly to pay a company to come in to perform a relatively simple task. In fact, most things to do with the general maintenance of air conditioners is fairly straightforward so long as you understand what you’re doing.

Bona called me in a flap about some missing keys which I think I’ve now solved. Manos and Toni were going around with the air con guys unlocking and locking the various locations. I seem to have walked about quite a bit today although my watch shows only 17,000 steps and 12.3km. 8km of that was with the dogs first thing.

It was cooler than yesterday even though it was very sunny but quite windy. Tomorrow night be warmer and sunnier but still windy.
