Fool Moon

My Sunday evening entertainment was the first part of the Rise and Fall of Michael Henchard AKA The Mayor of Casterbridge. I read this book at school dreading the thought of having to do so. Fortunately, I had a very good English teacher who brought the book to us in a way as to make it easily understood. The TV adaptation of the book did its best to tell the story in the time available.

Maya decided to bark about 03:00 as we were sleeping too deeply for her liking. I plan to set the automatic recording app tonight to see if I can work out what triggers her barking. It was not just a case of telling her to shut up as I had to get out of bed to convince her that barking in the night is frowned upon.

There was a fresh northwesterly wind as we crossed the rocks for the first time. All but Luis were present although he kept with us in a distant way.

It was becoming light on the way back from Azzuro at around 05:35. There wasn’t much going on compared to yesterday although a van was parked in the beach car park as it was yesterday. Today, we actually saw the inmate.

The remainder of the walk was uneventful and the Crazies came out after. Isabella kept hold of the ball after some initial rushing around. We were back in the camping around seven-thirty. I picked up poo and then fed the cat. He wasn’t there when I first went to feed him. Usually, he’s shouting the house down.

After a delay for brain training, I rode to Paleochora for some bananas from Petrakis and bread from Anatoli. I timed my outward journey well arriving at the works just as the traffic was released. On the return, I was first in line although the delay wasn’t excessive.

I took down the washing before feeding the dogs and have since dried another batch. I carted yesterday’s to Bona then came down to take the most recent load from the machine and let MARIA into the laundry. She informed me that she didn’t understand how to read the electric meters even though Marisa appears to have shown her how to do it. I suspect the real reason is that it’s something different/new added to the fact she cannot be bothered to learn how to use the app. She doesn’t do change. Unlike last summer, my phone will not pick up when MARIA calls so she’ll need to ask Marisa or just make it up!

Other than hang up another load of washing, the day became very lazy. I think I fell asleep for quite a while and then frittered the time away achieving very little.

Warmer than yesterday but also quite windy. It appears the week will become progressively warmer. My vacuum pump has made it to Bulgaria so maybe we’ll have a little cooling before too much longer.
