Happy October!

Petra was back in command so handed me some Bamies AKA Ladies Fingers together with some potatoes. They were still warm so I went straight back to enjoy them. Apparently, the kitchen had a good day with plenty of customers to feed. I watched Frost followed by Fresh Fields by which time I was ready for bed.

The night was cooler, indeed I almost reached for a blanket! It was a lot cooler in the morning as I had my collar up. There was a slight ruckus to start with as a cat was silly enough to be around. I made it clear that we don’t chase cats so the cat had a good day.

Having completed our two visits to Azzuro, I returned to drop only Obi and let Oskar out. The others decided they needed an extra walk although Luis was waiting on the decking when we returned. If only I’d had Oskar I may as well have taken them all round again. Just that the girls would feel cheated if we didn’t go out again with just them.

I hung around for a little while looking after my brain then cycled over Panorama for a trip around Paleochora via Vakakis. I thought I might try them for a few days to see how the bread compares. I’ve noticed that the brown loaf is more colour than whole meal as I’m guessing the price of rye has increased and dying white bread to look brown is cheaper. It was 24ºC as I rode back and only 22ºC on the outward journey.

I fed the dogs and drank more tea then got on with updating servers and setting up RDP on other computers mindful that my subscription to TeamViewer ceases at the end of this month. In fact, much of my day has been taken up with playing with computers one way or another. There was a brief trip to the washing machine with Janne, and I hung up what was already in the machine for Bona. Their wash seemed to go on forever.

Otherwise, the day has been very warm and sunny with a gentle northerly breeze wafting to my right. Tomorrow should also be sunny and around the same temperature.

Only four weeks until the clocks go back and the mornings are lighter again. Hurrah! I’m getting a little fed up wandering around in the darkness but it will get worse before it gets better as there will be a further twenty-one minutes come the end of the month. The weeks after the Winter Solstice are not much help as it doesn’t start to get light again in the mornings until January 14 as the length of the day increases only in the evenings until then.

The dogs are not conned by this seasonal change business as they work by the sun and not the clock. They’re queuing up earlier each day for their suppers.

Monthly summary for September 2023. Interestingly, only the 29 August was 0,2ºC warmer than the hottest day in September. This was the 3rd wettest September since 2014 when I started the weather station.
Warmer than yesterday with plenty of sunshine and a breeze. The night and early morning were cooler as the minimum was a mere 19.2ºC.
