Busy Sunday

I was falling asleep so decided it was better to be in bed. The day had been busy so I ended up eating later. I had time for one episode of As Time Goes By and then Spooks where I woke up during the next episode wondering why I’d lost the plot.

The morning arrived quickly so we were up and out as usual. No moon and a slight breeze on the beach. The sea was calm and only three vans or motorhomes decorated the track to Azzuro. We were back just after six so I settled the boys and got on with preparing the DD’s. I thought it better to get it out of the way as I knew there would be departures.

I took the girls as dawn broke and we walked up to Azzuro throwing the ball. The couple with the big, fluffy dog were out exercising him in the morning gloom. We didn’t meet up today. A guy on a scooter arrived as we reached The Promontory. He’d been there yesterday with a woman I presume to be his wife. He said he didn’t mind the dogs just that they were quite big. I replied that they were mostly curious. In fact, they took little notice of him when we arrived over the rocks then disappeared leaving him with his photography.

I rode to Paleochora to buy bread. An extremely well-nourished man was in front of me and seemed to be buying a lot of pastries which might have explained his magnitude. The bill came to 30€ in all. I was served next so set off back to Grammeno.

I fed the dogs and then went into the camping. The North Macedonians were packing up to leave so wanted to pay. They’d chosen their final morning to wash their belongings as Bona had explained to me. I went next to the Austrian couple whose friends left yesterday. They were sitting with the German and his dog, Roger. He’d not managed to leave at nine as he’d hoped. We chatted and I took their money as they’d be leaving later in the day.

I went back for some tea and to catch up with the arrivals who’d not been entered into the system from yesterday. I photograph their ID and take their number so it’s easy to know the date and time of their arrival.

The mother and daughter in the camper van with the two children have returned. The younger boy was a baby when they came last. I offered them a spot away from everything but they wanted Bay two which they took. Let’s hope they’re less vocal than their last visit.

The Israelis called to say they’d be leaving for home early tomorrow morning so wished to pay. They’d not actually been checked-in for whatever reason so I’ll dream up a name for them in due course.

The Austrian couple with the dog left soon after. I went to say goodbye and met Maria at the gate. I helped myself to some oil from the workshop and put on the doggy rice. The DD’s have yet to be processed but that can be the preamble to their supper in a while.

I’ve not had much time to myself as I’ve been working on mostly camping-related activities or actually wandering around doing things. Bona tells me she will come in early and late tomorrow and for the rest of the week but will spend the intervening time at the greenhouse where she earns more money.

Warmer than yesterday with a little wind later. There were some clouds but mostly sunny.
