Mission Accomplished

Hercule entertained me until he was done, I fell asleep so went to bed about half-nine I suppose.

The night was cooler and almost blanket territory! I made sure to add a layer before taking the dogs out, also my thicker shorts. Our walks were more rapid due to the chilliness of the day so we were back swapping over at six(ish) then out again around 06:15 with the girls plus Skinny.

There were two vans in the beach car park and one parked on the beach so we went to Grammeno Beach and raced around a little before going onto the Promontory. There was more ball-throwing and jumping in the sea then back to the camping whereupon I left to ride into Paleochora for some bread and DDs bits.

It was past eight when I left Paleochora so I might have to wait at the roadworks. Fortunately, they’d not started so I sailed through to return the wash I’d put in the machine to the French couple once I’d managed to get it to spin.

I wanted to use the power cut to perform some upgrades for my system so I disconnected some things and left the inverter charging the battery happily on its own.

I managed to make a start but ran into some difficulties as some of the switch units were incompatible. I wanted to use a RCD to extra security but it didn’t fit properly with the other MCBs and RCBOs as it is from a different manufacturer. I’ll get a suitable one from China which is where the rest came from.

There was a phone call from a Greek couple with a tent which they’d already erected under the trees by the beach. I think the others have taken up much of the other area. They called the other day to ask if the camping is open and will stay two nights. They have a huge airbed which I inflated using the compressor in the workshop.

I managed to swap the breaker boxes and install one circuit and the AC during my upgrade. It’s much easier to upgrade the rest now the hardest part is complete.

The power came back on before I completed my work as I was interrupted by the arrival.

Maria called to say there was another arrival at reception. A German/Austrian couple with a big van. I showed them the camping and found them a suitable place then they decided they would wild camp on the beach and use the camping for showers and WC which is also an option. Anyway, they gave me 50€ upfront which is fine.

The teacher who called the other day may arrive tomorrow but he’s uncertain as to what days he’s working as it’s not finalised.

I didn’t cook the beans I’d soaked for tonight so will revert to a fallback plan and consume the remainder of the soup with a giant salad with Tempeh of which I have an abundance thanks to Jessica.

The AC is much quieter now I’ve cleaned the filters which were quite dirty. It only takes a couple of minutes. I leave the AC on all the time but it only cools when needed but keeps the air moving like a fan. There is plenty of electricity so no problem whilst the sun keeps shining.

The day has been warm and sunny after a chilly start. I think it will be chilly over the weekend if the forecast rain materialises but then again, it may come to nothing at all!

A cool start leading to a warm, sunny day. Still unsettled from Saturday onwards.
