I enjoyed an episode of Frost whilst eating. It became quite complicated as there were multiple, connected murders. Like everything else another look at something already seen gives a greater understanding of the plot.

We were out just after 04:30. The moon and Venus were above each other to the east. The moon is heading towards the end of its cycle once more with a new moon on Monday. It’s somewhat less effective at providing light than when full, unsurprisingly.

Our first walk was without adventure and I may even have prevented the girls from trashing the trash belonging to the couple who checked-in and then out again the other day. Without so much moonlight, progress might have been a little slower so it was about six-fifteen before we were back.

Having fed Moggy, the girls, minus Skinny, set off for a walk with the ball and thrower, this time towards Azzuro once more. I felt it might be quicker and more energetic for the girls going this way. There’s more scope for throwing the ball into the sea and easier for them to find more quickly than on The promontory. We came back with only one ball as the other is on its way to Gavdos.

I rode to Paleochora for two loaves of bread but will refrain from visiting Petrakis until tomorrow when the road should not be closed giving me more time. I dropped the bread and returned to the dogs.

I’d just fed them and made tea when the bikers and French woman who arrived six days ago, let me know they would be leaving. By necessity more than desire. They will return to Iraklion after a visit to Rethymno on the way. They promised to return now they know what to expect.

After a little fiddling around I at last got on with the website move and can report that it’s now up-and-running in its staging location. I just need for the owner to look over it to make sure it’s doing what it should be doing and I can progress with the transfer. There are still some functions which will not work until I activate the email addresses .

The dogs crowded around the gate to welcome Xanthippos who wanted to cut back some of the shrubbery to install a new pipe from CBV to the main sewer by the road. It was easier for him to do this from the Grammeno Camping side than from the field side, hence his visit. In the end, they hired an excavator to grub up a pathway to install the new pipe. Hopefully, they didn’t find the various caches of dog poo of which one was only hours fresh as I had a big pick-up this morning. Naturally, I’ve been dumping poo in their field for years as well as what the dogs leave on their way to the beach. Better the field than the beach I say.

There was one arrival. A British/German couple with a sizeable motorhome which is now in front of the restaurant kitchen. He was born in Grimsby but spent many years in Australia so speaks Strine. They both had a good sense of humour so it will be interesting to see how long they stay. The couple which arrived yesterday left to walk in Sougia but suggested they might return for the weekend. Not to the same place as it’s been taken by today’s arrivals.

A woman who walks her dogs each evening at Grammeno came looking for a lost dog as I was speaking to the new arrivals after dark. She marched through the site on a quest so my lot all started making a racket. The lost dog was later found in the beach car park.

Another day at the Funny Farm draws to a close…

Cooler than yesterday with some cloud in the morning but brightening up in the afternoon. There is a risk of thunderstorms for the next few days as the weather becomes more unstable.
