Thursday

I visited India and the Good Karma Hospital, then a new murder series I found on iPlayer followed by a crazy WWII drama set in Libya and Egypt during Rommel’s advance. A group of renegades who decide they’re fed up with the slow progress of the war so take things into their own hands and organise a few surprises for Rommel. Tobruk has been under siege for weeks yet no one seems able to send reinforcements. They have a plan…

Morning came around. I didn’t have to turn on the water heater as someone appears to have fixed the boiler, at least temporarily. The moon was out and the sky was clear so I didn’t need my torch even going over the rocks. The cat from previous days was keeping a low profile and there was an additional camper in the car park. All returned after the walk except Luis who replaced Skinny on the second walk. Luis appeared as we were walking to Azzuro.

It felt a little chillier especially when heading north as it’s quite humid and the wind is northerly. It got light quite quickly so there was plenty of opportunity for playing with the ball. Today, like yesterday, we came back with more balls than when we left. However, the quality of the collected balls means they’re only really useful for chewing up as they’re little use for throwing.

I rode to Paleochora for a couple of loaves of bread and a visit to the post office. I’d received a message from ELTA to tell me there was a parcel waiting. The guy behind the counter could only offer me one for Lucia but insisted she collected it herself. Upon my return, I took the washing back to the French which I’d put in before leaving, fed the dogs after delivering the bread.

I spent much of the day trying to sort out things at LBS. The power went off due to a shorting plug on Simon’s desktop computer. The router decided to scramble the network settings so none of the RDP worked correctly. Caroline’s computer could see the network but not the Internet and all methods to make it do so failed. I finally decided to set the computers up with static IPs and configure the settings manually. That way I can be sure the remote desktops will all work correctly. Simon replaced the power cable on his computer so now it’s working.

I didn’t get a lot else done except for to drink a couple of cups of tea and put on the doggy rice. It was a pleasant day which made it easier to work outside.

A bright and clear start to the day which was mostly sunny with a gentle breeze. Tomorrow is forecast to be cooler and the weekend is looking unsettled with the possibility of a little rain. It feels generally cooler than the past few days. Today was warmer than yesterday.
