Arrivals x3!

I watched an episode of The Gentle Touch which was a little farcical and fanciful but nevertheless entertaining. This was preceded by Hetty Wainthropp investigating a murder and abduction by a rogue police officer. The remainder of the soirée was spent with YouTube.

For the first time in a while, I actually felt hungry managing to eat all of the bread and finish off all of the food I’d prepared! It looks like I may live after all. I even went to bed later too!

I think the doggies found it chilly during the night as I had to get up to find a place for Luis who, for some reason, had ended up on the floor. Then Maya joined us and there were some antics before the Siblings settled down again.

The alarm at 06:15 heralded a reasonably still yet chilly morning under a mostly clear sky. Today, we made it to Azzuro as it was possible to cross the river with dry feet if desired. I retuned the smaller boys then set off with Skinny and The Crazies for a spin around the Promontory with the ball. Despite losing and finding balls, we got plenty of exercise leading to a total of 5km for both walks. Not as far as 8km but significantly further than of late due to my incapacitated constitution.

I rode to Paleochora for bread and another visit to Petrakis as there was a shortage of fresh ginger and garlic, an unlikely combination. I’d also agreed to purchase pizzas for Bona and she was bringing me some fresh peppers and tomatoes. Tonight will be an orgy of fresh vegetables after so long without much desire for food.

The day wended its way after a cloudy interval. I received a phone call from a couple on bicycles who were at Chania but promised to arrive before sunset. They were preceded by a couple in a van who’d come from Elafonissi for a change. They said the road was interesting but came the direct route. Next arrivals a French couple in a van staying only one night and are using the washing machine. An interesting combination seeing as rain is forecast for tonight and tomorrow. They might stay another night.

The cyclists arrived and are camping by the beach on the area less prone to flooding. They are staying two nights.

I found Toni’s wash in the machine which held things up a little but my food should be ready by the time the wash finishes.

The heating is churning away and has successfully raised the temperature from around fifteen to over twenty in a comparatively short space of time. Without the wind, it seemed much warmer today although still nothing like tropical.

Warmer than yesterday and mostly still. More northerly wind is forecast for Saturday although tomorrow should be calm but with some rain during the night.
