Spring Forward

Dangerfield was as busy as ever although he seemed to spend little time in his practice and was having a difficult time with his son too. The main theme was a woman who alleged having been raped but would not allow the police doctor to examine her. Doubtless, all will be revealed in the next episode including the fate of one of his colleagues who has a drink and a temper problem. I fell asleep watching longer videos on YouTube.

For some reason, I woke at 02:58 and looked at my watch. When I looked a few moments later, it was after four. We had Sprung Forward. The 05:00 alarm woke me so it’s fair to say we got up either five minutes earlier or fifty-five minutes later.

A car approached as we left the field for the track at about 05:25 so I wasn’t the only idiot about. I was lightly clad on top with denim shorts so was not cold. There was no wind and the sky was mostly clear. The moon shone brightly and the dogs raced around, Isabella, sometimes noisily.

The four larger dogs came out onto the Promontory once more where we found men fishing from the rocks and the single rocks on the Paleochora side of the Promontory. They raced after the ball for a bit but not so much now that we have a longer walk beforehand.

I set off for Paleochora to discover I’d managed to collect a drawing pin in my front tyre. Nevertheless, I decided to go over Panorama and along the seafront where runners were preparing to depart. The nice vegetable lady from Petrakis and a man were personing a barrier to prevent unauthorised entry to the promenade. I was allowed to proceed but decided my presence would be an incumbrance so took a parallel road to avoid the mêlée. The seafront beyond [south of] the ferry terminal is still in disorder as pipes are being laid. I stopped at Anatoli and returned to Grammeno still with an inflated front tyre. I tried to remove the wheel but the cam on the quick release was seized so I sprayed oil and left it. The tyre was still inflated in the evening so may not be punctured after all, but I should inspect it.

The day turned into a saga of inactivity. I set the Exchange Server to update at Inter Sport, I read Peter’s PC specification but easily became diverted to other, less demanding activities. Not surprising as the day was warm and sunny. I seem to have spent much of it chatting online although I lent Jamie my old bike so that he and his mummy could ride to Paleochora together to eat later.

I managed to show some interest in the camping by collecting together the sheets from Ξ1 and 6 and welcoming a couple on a motorhome. They have a large, black dog and say they will stay a couple of days. I also started the end of month summary for Georgia.

Warm and sunny with no wind. People were on the beach and bathing! The next days will be similar.
