So much for 53mm rain!

It did rain quite a lot yesterday but certainly not 53mm as was advised at one point. I have yet to look around the other stations on the island, so can only comment on the local weather.

The sun is shining as I write and the present temperature outside is 16C so I’m hopeful for some hot water later.

It rained earlier but only some 4.3mm. Yesterday we had 23.9mm and not 53mm as predicted.

According to the forecast, there should be a dry period after today and temperatures should start to rise. At least today I can open the roof and remove some of the fugg which has built up in the van over the past few days. Last night, returning to the van with Dave after the final puppy walk in the rain, it was a bit like walking into a sauna. It was 22C as the heating was on, and the air was laden with moisture. It would be nice to have a couple of dry, warm, sunny days to drive it all out of the van.

We’re coming to the next lunar cycle so I thought I’d send you a comparison for Lewes and Crete.

From the above, you can see that although sunrise is only 10 minutes apart, sunset is 60 minutes later in Crete giving a daylight period of 11:25 and 10:32 respectively. Of course, come the summer months, UK day length will exceed that of Crete by a large amount and places like the Scottish isles will have almost 24 hours of visible light.
