Luis is licking my toes

Up early this morning as Antonis was scheduled to pick up Obi and I at 08:00. Sure enough, just before 08:00, he turned up with his brother Nikos in the back of the car. We travelled to Chania and had interesting conversations on the way as Nikos speaks just as good English as he.

There was hardly anyone waiting at the vet so Obi was seen very quickly. Babis, the vet, said that everything was looking good and perhaps the lamp shade might come off but go back on again if he scratches his eye. I decided that, as Obi is used to the collar, taking it off and putting it back on again, might be quite unkind, so I shall let him wear it a couple more days just to be sure. I ordered a 14kg bag of special Dave food last Wednesday but it hadn’t yet arrived, so I paid for it and gave Antonis the receipt so he can collect it the next time he’s in Chania. 2kg is around €25 but 14kg is €75. Somewhat better value in my view. Obi now has different drops: twice a day for one week and once daily for the following.

Nikos decided to come back on the bus, so it was just the three of us on the return run. Antonis said he’d probably go fishing tonight but I suspect it might be a little too windy at present.
It was very overcast and a little drizzly in Chania but warmer and sunnier in Paleochora. Yesterday I was moving the chair out of the sunlight, today I was moving it into the sunlight! I had some lunch followed by a little snooze before taking Dave out for his walk. Today I took a ball and the thrower to see if Luis and Fido might be interesting in a little ball. They were both very happy to chase the ball and it was funny to see Luis tearing after the ball as he does.
Back at the camping, a little more English conversation practice and then it was dark and past feeding time for the doggies. They are now appropriately fed and I am sitting inside with the Brown Dogs. In a few more minutes I will put the Small Dogs to bed so then I will be done for the night.
It’s a bit windy and not very warm, so I’ll be quite quick at putting them to bed.
