Promise of a few fine days

The forecast talks about days without rain until Saturday. Seeing is believing but I remain hopeful. More rain today and in the night although nothing significant during the times that mattered. I managed to get all the dogs walked, fed and put to bed without incurring any real dampness. I can’t say it is cold and it was positively warm when the sun was shining.

Dave and I went for a little walk to the reception earlier to check for mail. We visited the Great Grammeno Pallet Wall, now located at the top of the camping. I selected a pallet to put down in the Small Dog Run so that they would have more space off the ground to lie down when it’s wet. Following the rain in the night, the puddles were back, leaving a limited space for them. Lying on the wet ground can’t be a lot of fun either.
Matthew’s accounts and tax return are nearly complete. All it needs now is for him to look over the return and I can submit it. I have yet to do my own tax return but that is not a difficult job anymore as I have fewer customers and fewer expenses.
I’m sitting outside again and can hear the sea crashing onto the beach. In some locations much of the sand has been washed away, exposing even more rocks. Maybe we’ll have a storm which will bring back some sand. The rocks don’t make the beach so attractive for bathers as it’s difficult to get into the water.
Maria came to give me back the keys last night just moments after I had gone into the van. She had planned to leave early so as not to have to drive in the dark but that ship had definitely sailed. Her ankle seems a lot better and she is able to drive again. I suggested she should keep it up when she is sitting, to try to reduce the swelling and bruising. She told me that Georgia might come either tomorrow or Thursday. Only time will tell on that one. I plan to make use of the washing machine and the next few fine days to get everything up date.
The plumber came yesterday and clambered on the roof of the main bathrooms. He fiddled with something and today the shower was so much hotter! I know there is some device to control the water temperature when it’s very sunny to prevent scalding. Pity it needs someone up on the roof to adjust it!
Washing machine, here I come!
