Rumble, rumble

It has been warm and sunny all day however the threat of a storm has been with us for a  few days.

Today’s maximum was 28.3C but it’s only 19.8C now.

The morning walk was fine and not so cold as yesterday. We gazed at the stars and I have still not worked out if we saw the ISS (International Space Station).

My day has been one of email problems and not entirely successful. A certain degree of frustration may have been apparent.

Ursula went to try to find the elusive vet but was unsuccessful, losing Tony in the meantime. Fortunately, Minnie left her breakfast on the back seat of the car causing Ursula more amusement.

The clouds came over as the afternoon progressed and I wondered if we would be having an evening walk. Fortunately, it remained sunny and warm and we were able to enjoy our walk. They were fed and Obi, Dave and I went down to see Ursula and Tony to pick up some beans for supper. At that moment, Georgia and Olivia appeared in the pickup heading to the bar to deal with the refrigerators. I went to help and we covered them with polythene.

Back to the vending machines by the kitchen where we threw over some more polythene just as the rain started. The German couple, sheltering under the roof were enjoying their supper of BBQ’d animal. I suggested they should not rely on the roof to protect them whereupon the water started to run through. They retreated to a less wet area to finish their meal.

I then went back to see Ursula and Tony to finish my wine. The rain had stopped by this time, however, Ursula decided to take back Dave and Obi so got soaked in the process. Princess was a little soggy around the edges as well. She is now covered up and Boris is in the storeroom with Dave. If he barks because of the thunder it will be contained within the building.

I am now reheating my beans awaiting the inevitable powercut once one of the pylons over the mountains gets struck.

The thunder rumbles in the distance, the dogs are all tucked up and the rain is pattering on the roof of the van. A few drops fell upon my laptop so I have taken it inside.
