Turning nasty

My additional two dogs were pleased to see me at 22:00 when I went to walk them around the camping for the last time. They are very cute together although Five is a little overexuberant so Mickey was squeaking a bit when she was ragging him about.

This morning, we walked as usual, despite an unexpected short shower at around 05:30. I got up a little earlier as I saw no point in festering in my pit. The rain woke me as it did Lau. When we came back, I fed Dave then all the others before taking Dave and Mickey out for a long walk on the Promontory. As a last-minute plan, I decided to take Five as well. She is often reluctant to leave the camping despite Lau’s efforts to encourage her to come on his daily exercise walks. Georgia complains that she is getting fat so a little exercise wouldn’t go amiss. I took them on the same walk as I take the others so you can imagine there was plenty for them to sniff and explore.

I kept her on the lead until we reached the furthest point but I needn’t have worried as she was keen to join in. Dave and Mickey get on well so everything went according to plan. Georgia was concerned that I’d have difficulty getting Mickey to take his antibiotics however this doesn’t seem to be a problem. It was sunny and warm this morning so I tied Mickey up in the sun so he could bask.

I had no need to go into Paleochora so I decided to go the opposite direction to Krios beach. It’s more hilly that way but the road follows the coast. I sat on an upturned boat on the beach in the sun for a few minutes before going back to Grammeno. I’ve done quite a lot today so all my activity circles were closed before the evening walk.

A scooter came into the camping to the delight of the dogs. A courier was looking for me to deliver the new gas valve for the van heating system. The plan is to move the cylinders to the rear of the van where it’s easier to manoeuvre them and they are in the shade. It also gets them off the decking and leaves the gas locker as a useful cupboard for storing stuff which would otherwise clutter the decking.

The sky turned cloudier as the day wore on and we just managed to get back from an early walk before quite a heavy shower. I think they must have worked out that it was going to rain as even they managed to muster a sense of urgency.

Their food was delayed whilst the rain fell but none of them is likely to starve to death. I then fed Dave followed by Mickey and walked him around a bit. He, unlike Dave, cannot go outside when the mood takes him.

My food must be nearly cooked so I’d better attend to it.
