Lewes was warmer than Grammeno (by 0.1C)

Today the high at Grammeno was 27.1C and at Lewes it was 27.2C making Lewes warmer than Grammeno by 0.1C. Ursula reported that today was the warmest UK April day for the past seventy years. At least summer in UK is over for another year so you can put away the sunscreen and the factor 120.

Despite being my birthday, I did all the usual things including celebrating the day by having a shower in the morning. There are customers in the camping so they want warm water in the morning too.

I went to Paleochora and bought four, large grapefruit for 1.07€. That is not even £1. The other day I bought four oranges, grapefruit and apples plus a bunch of bananas for €4 = £4. Some people complain that it’s expensive here.

I received a number of birthday greetings and chatted on the phone to my mummy and also to Ursula. I also chatted to Sue at Inter Sport but that was business.

I busied myself in the reception office for most of the afternoon playing with routers. Quite exciting if you like that sort of thing. This left time for my conversation with Ursula followed by the evening walk.

Two cars were in the Grammeno Beach car park and I’d spotted the occupants of one. A young family on the beach attempting to bathe. We soon bumped into the second, a group of Italian women walking around the Promontory. They were captivated by the dogs and wanted to know all about them. The dogs behaved nicely and allowed themselves to be petted. Boris offered each of them his ball to throw. Fortunately, only Boris and Charlie had been let off the lead or things might have developed into a bit or a circus.

It was a good walk and we returned without incident.

Inter Sport have had a shoplifting event so I had to create an evidence folder for the police. Hopefully, the cameras managed to capture the dastardly deed.

Tonight’s interesting delight consists of a repeat of last night with the addition of some peas. The remainder went in the freezer.

Another year older!
