Καλώ Μήνα – Happy Labour Day

And here we are again at the beginning of May!

Plenty of people were on the beach to enjoy the sun and the relatively warm water. The camping was quite full however the visitors in T2 and T3 have now left leaving those in T1 and the caravan who are probably packing up to go home as I write. It’s a mixed family as the mother and children speak English and Greek interchangeably and the father is definitely Greek. They commented as to how well behaved the dogs were as I returned to the camping after a less than spectacular walk. It was still quite warm, there were children playing just outside the gates to the beach and a motorcycle on the Promontory. Together with people on the beach, Boris was the only one to have his freedom. There’s nothing like trekking around with all the dogs on the lead!

This morning was very quiet other than Πέντε barking at 04:55 which woke me up. I decided to get up shortly after and to get the show on the road. As expected, other than a tourist van parked on the stony beach, there was no one about so all but Princess and Obi were free. As it turned out, the other dogs mostly gathered around the spot where Obi and Princess were tied up although Pea and sometimes Fido would run after me. I did my ten laps so we returned to base.

It’s quite warm during the day so I’m watering the flowers every morning to give them a good start before the harsher weather in the summer. They are all fairly close together so watering only takes a couple of minutes.

My trip to Paleochora followed a welcome shower and involved a visit to Petrakis to get cranberries as well as some prunes and lemons. I’m sure there was something else too.

I spent the morning answering a few emails and playing with the camping network as there were more people using it. I also visited Maria in the office as she had a couple of queries for me. She was also unable to watch TV last night as the channel she wanted was not on the TV.

Georgia invited me to join everyone around the BBQ for a meat-fest although she mentioned the existence of salad and potato salad too. I left them to their BBQ after showing my face a couple of times, then went to check out Maria’s TV. I ended up resetting it and re-tuning it. She is happy as she can watch what she wants.

I did a little more work on the CCTV recorder but lacked the inclination to mess with ladders on the roof to set up another camera.

The afternoon morphed into evening so I took the dogs out through the field and back in through the camping.

Seems very quiet out there at present so I may venture out to track down Πέντε if I can grab her easily. I left her out last night as there was a group of people by the BBQ until late. As was Mickey.

Ursula, Tony and Heidi have now arrived near Clermont Ferrand for their stop at the end of their first leg to Italy. Ursula sent me a text when they stopped for a wee-break in the afternoon.

The end of another National Holiday
