Don’t look now but I’m wearing a fleece!

It was warm and cloudy with lots of moonlight when we went out, but the forecast was for rain around 09:00. Luis is still having problems with his rear hoof so uninterested in ball-chasing. Oskar and Charlie were the most active today.

Not wishing to remain out for longer than necessary, I decided to get back and get on before the onset of the rain. I ran and managed to go my 6km in 39 minutes today although I felt I was flagging a bit near the end. I don’t know why I watered, but it was a bit of a brisk attempt anyway. Another indoor shower and off to Paleochora to buy food and use my replacement debit card.

It was sunny when I got back and was quite warm during the morning. Only as the day progressed did it cloud over and darken up. Watching a distant storm approach, I decided to prepare for some rain by moving Oskar and Pea into the other run so they would have a house each. As it turned out, they naturally stood out in the rain rather than use the house. Not that the storm lasted for very long or was very hard. Just that now the temperature has dropped and, together with the wind, it’s quite chilly. I’ve had to wear a shirt all afternoon, and I will shut a couple of windows later when I go in to sit down.

The wind is now blowing from the north rather than from the west but can’t make up its mind.

Other than fiddling around with dogs and rain, I’ve been installing another music streaming service on another computer. The first one is ok but there are no useful apps for mobile devices, and it’s a bit clumsy through the Web browser. I’ve installed another software which is much better anyway and also has a free app for phones and tablets. I can see that it’s a slicker product and you can even click on a button to see the song lyrics! What more could one wish for? Now to move all the music from one server to the other! That might take a while…

Added to that, a little IT support work which ended up driving me around the bend trying without success to uninstall some extremely uncooperative software. I gave up in the end and installed a new version onto another device. He can decide what he wants to do about it tomorrow.

There are still plenty of clouds about, and the wind is getting up again. The dogs are not deterred by a bit of rain, so we’ll have to go out in a little while. I expect they will not wish to hang around tonight preferring to go into their houses as quickly as they can.

Georgia emailed me last night to tell me one of the cameras wasn’t working. I went and fixed it. It just needed a restart: probably due to the earlier powercut. She says she is in Chania as she needs treatment for her leg problem so will be away for three day’s physio. With the weather and the end of August looming, the camping is not busy anyway, and I’m sure we will be able to cope without her.

Off to walk the dogs now and get what little hair remains ruffled by the wind. I expect there will be very few on the beach this evening.
