A busier weekend

The dogs were quiet last night when we went out to ThirdEye, or at least Erica doesn’t remember them being a problem. OddJob didn’t make a sound all night, however, Oskar thought I needed an early start to the day so did a big woof at 04:00. I decided it wasn’t worth going back to sleep until the alarm woke me at 04:30.

I did not realise how blowy it was outside until I stepped out of the van. Not having flapping material above my head really makes a huge difference. I was wearing a thin and thick fleece plus my dog-walking coat from 2003(!). There were no misadventures today as Oskar, Luis and Fido were kept on the lead for the entire walk. There was also hardly any moon due to extensive cloud cover. The moon is in its final days anyway.

Eleanor joined Ursula and I for tea other than she drank coffee. I’d already run and showered by this time. Ursula went off to make tea for Tony before going to Paleochora, and I followed on later by bike. I needed two pastries today as Eleanor decided to partake. I went on to Petrakis to get vegetables for this evening’s supper which is in the Instant Pot as I write.

After breakfast I got ready for the weekly phone conversation which, this time was shared with Eleanor. I then helped Janne and Erica haul bamboo palings onto the roof above their caravan which Janne had been cleaning beforehand. The palings were a wonderful example of traditional craftsmanship – not…

Eleanor assisted me with the Evening Walk which took in the Promontory. We briefly watched the sunset and were out and back in less than thirty minutes. Ursula meanwhile, had put out the food and filled the water bowls so Eleanor and I could quickly despatch the dogs to their houses.

The fakes for supper had been cooking while we were out on the walk, so all that remained was to add the vegetables and set the Pot for an additional five minutes. I’m not sure how this will turn out so all will be revealed in the fullness of time.

Eleanor went off for a shower so I imagine they will show up en masse bearing a bowl of salad. Janne and Erica have, quite sensibly, disappeared to Paleochora to find sustenance.

We finally got to eat our food after some false-starts due to the pressure relief valve not closing properly. Everyone had left for bed by 22:00.
