I cleaned!

Awake early to the sound of rain at 00:45 and again at 05:15. A total of 1.4mm between both showers. It wasn’t raining at 05:55 so I got up and turned on the water heaters before collecting the dogs together for their walk. There was a moon and plenty of cloud but not many stars and only Venus visible. We walked four laps of the Promontory whice gave me 1000+KJ, a good start to the day. I could see I would be able to run so had a little relax before going out on the Kountoura circuit with Winston. This Gallipoli business is not going to end well for the British and the Anzacs I fear.

Back at the ranch I got a very hot shower and put on a few layers as it wasn’t over-warm this morning. I fiddled around with one of Inter Sport’s servers for a bit and then it was time for my weekly call. So engrossed were we that I didn’t notice the time so we were cut off in mid-sentence!

I checked out my batteries to find that the one I suspected of being good was certainly not and the one I’d written off was still at least delivering somewhere around 13V. The other couldn’t manage more than 10V as I think a couple of the cells have gone the way. After over twenty-four hours of charging, they were still not gassing freely. A sure sign they are not taking a charge. Hopefully, the other battery will continue until I’ve made other arrangements.

I spent a little time sweeping the awning tent and inside the van then shoved a mop around to remove a couple of layers of dirt. Having five dogs in the van increases the dirt-level especially as Charlie is so fluffy. Oskar spends most of his time at the front of the van so doesn’t contribute in quite the same way.

A surprise visit from Georgia who was showing a friend around the camping as a possibility for a future event. Apparently, he’s some well-known psychiatrist so bound to be potty. Perhaps he and Oskar will hit it off? I wandered up to the entrance with Georgia, who is having to use crutches, as she has a knee problem which will require another MRI in a couple of weeks. Fortunately, she always remembers to update me with the latest news of her various health conditions.

The Evening Walk was speedy due to massing clouds but we found time for Luis to race around after his ball. Fido, although reasonably keen, was less active than Luis.

It has been mostly cloudy and cool today with occasional showers. One of which caught Xanthippos just as he left the camping with Georgia’s dogs. The forecast for the next couple of days is rain and then cold followed by some warmer weather according to Xanthippos. As he put it “and then comes summer”. We’ll see.
