Oskar = doghouse

Oskar has been behaving more unusually than usual the past couple of days. He appears to be looking for something, particularly on the Evening Walk. When it comes to the end of the walk, he disappears and refuses to come when asked. I managed to reacquire him at the sliding gates last night but tonight he wandered off up the beach. He was finally to be found standing outside the gate leading to the field. He is confined to the run as he was not present for supper so might be quite hungry by tomorrow evening. Strangely, it only took Charlie a couple of times without food and he became far more attentive. Charlie is sitting next to me as I write, wagging his tail and offering me his paw. I guess he wants my attention or maybe the rawhide chew he found on the Promontory this morning currently residing in my pocket. Cupboard love!

The power went off just after midday probably due to wind damage as it’s been quite windy since early morning. Saturday promises to be less windy but Sunday more so. Otherwise, it’s been sunny and warm so no complaints there.

The young couple with the baby have moved their van from by the sliding gate onto the beach to one of the spaces next to the central bathrooms. They claim it’s less windy there.

I managed to get the washing done for my northerly neighbours who depart on Sunday and have done two washes in two days. It was the turn of the bedding this time. At least there was plenty of wind to dry it.

The power failure triggered a couple of other inconveniences. The fridge didn’t come back after the power resumed as didn’t the main socket block which serves the outside area. I traced this to a dodgy multiway socket which I’ve now replaced. The MeteoBridge can be a little difficult when moved from one network to another. I connected it to my phone during the power outage and that was fine. Getting it to reconnect to the WiFi network after was less successful so some data was lost.

I’ve had better days: lots of interruptions, power outage, several silly support calls right at the end of the day, late breakfast, disobedient dog. Generally very unsatisfactory.
