Reinstalled my MacBook

The Swiss children were about when we returned from the Evening Walk. They were pleased to pet the dogs for a few minutes but I could see they were tired after a day on the beach and it was getting dark anyway. We left as the dogs were quite keen to get their food as was I. I mentioned that I thought most people might have gone as it was a Sunday night. It was really busy on the beaches but not on the Promontory.

It was a very pleasant walk this morning accompanied by a gently southwesterly breeze. The moon is on its last legs but it’s still possible to get around without a torch until first light. There were not FreeLoaders or other people except Kostas who left reasonably soon after we arrived. I didn’t even hear him going so must have been on the west side by the sea. We completed our walk so wandered back to the camping. The cars which were stuck in the shingle on the beach had, somehow, managed to drag each other out. There was a lot of talking drifting across in the wind during the night so now I know where it came from.

Skinny and I ran to Kountoura and then I went into the sea. I was feeling a little lazy so spent a lot of time just floating around. Breakfast followed and then a couple of EG support calls. I have also finished off the installation of the VM for Annette so just need her to return from her visit to check that everything is ok.

It has been another fan day but now Luis has forsaken the fan for the decking and I’ve just switched it off anyway. The temperature is cooling as the sun disappears behind the building so now the dogs are beginning to emerge from their daytime positions. There are Strange Dog Noises coming from under the decking so it’s possible the Skinny has managed to tie himself around something. It’s won’t be the first nor the last time. One day he will work out that jumping over the fence is not an option so the line will no longer be needed. I broke out two of the very posh leaks which were kindly donated by Ursula and Tony. Many from the set I bought a couple of years back are falling apart, mostly the stitching at the loop end.

Skinny has appeared so there will now be no peace up here! He thunders around on the decking tangling everyone up with his line. Trying to bite Charlie’s head off although Charlie doesn’t seem to mind that much. Sometimes he emits a little, plaintiff squeak, I look up and Skinny looks at me innocently. The others have now deserted him so he’s sitting on the decking waiting patiently for the next thing to happen. Considering the life he had previously, he’s a very good-natured dog.

More drilling today as work progressed on the generator exhaust. It all looked a little Heath Robinson when I walked past earlier.

My laptop used to have a Beta of the next version of the Apple operating system. I signed up for the beta testing program where the software is tested under everyday conditions. It’s not usually a good idea to use your main device for the program but in the past, it’s been ok. This time, with all the clutter on my machine, I was beginning to struggle due to the number of things which didn’t work as expected. I have done a complete, fresh installation of the operating system leaving all the dross behind. My machine is now so uncluttered!

Pete, who went back to UK about a month ago to buy himself a camper van, returned to Grammeno yesterday and has set up his pitch not too far from me. He left his motorcycle here whilst he was away and unfortunately, due to the security tracker, the battery was flat when he came to start up the bike. Now he has to charge it but it needs some form of adaptor as it’s a BMW. He sent off for one today.

Plenty of activity on the camping but I’d hardly say it’s at its busiest. The three enhanced cabins near to me seem to be doing well which is surprising at €70/night. Mostly Greeks so far as I can tell.

Not so hot today and a bit cloudy. This evening is very pleasant
