Orange moon

After my busy day at the hospital, I was glad not to be up too early. Around 07:00 we headed out onto Alonáki Beach where we met Martin in his Twingo. He’d left open the door so his three dogs wanted to come and play creating a circus for a minute or so. He put them in the car, we chatted a while, then I walked the dogs to the end of the Promontory and back. A bit different from the previous Saturday I’m afraid.

Next, it was SBD and Skinny and I tried to make up a little for the previous day. An English guy at CBV was carefully sorting his recycling into the special bins near the fence. We chatted a while and he said he’d enjoyed his holiday. I suggested September/October might make a better choice for a future trip.

The later start meant there was less time before my weekly call home which mostly centred around recent events. I’m not sure where part of the afternoon went and I only ventured outside to get some vegetables from the kitchen. I spent a while responding to reviews on the Google Sites. A rather mixed bunch. Later, I spoke to Peter for an hour and it was good to escape the compound for a bit. He confirmed some of the poor restaurant reviews by telling me of a customer who was amazed at being charged €0.50 for the dressing for his Greek Salad! Never again he said. A shame for just €0.50!

Peter told me he’d not been eating meat and started cooking for himself. He’s a trained chef I believe. He said he ordered spaghetti with pesto to take away from the camping kitchen. It was ready after 1 hour 45 mins. This corresponds with some reviews on the websites. Long delays waiting for orders and customers abandoning their tables because of the slow service. I think there needs to be someone who knows how to run a kitchen and maybe some technology to assist in orders given to the kitchen. Still, I’m not the boss and I’ve said my piece previously. I’ve given up bothering to give advice which falls on deaf ears to people who have no ability to make change.

The dogs got noisy so I went back. They got very playful for a couple of minutes with them all tearing around the compound making a racket. I took half-and-half for a short walk along Alonáki Beach where there was still a goodly number of people enjoying the beach. The dogs are now fed and quiet so I shall eat mine which is ready.
