Box on the wall

I had to remember to turn on the water heater this morning as Maria rang me last night to ask me and to tell me she was unwell. I’ll spare you the details.

With only six dogs the Early Walk was shorter than usual and we were back just after 07:00 having completed our three rounds. All dogs managed to stay the course and all dogs managed to meet up, albeit somewhat belatedly in the case of Skinny, at the collection point. I went out and returned with the same number of dogs. Result!

Skinny and I ran to Kountoura and then I swam over to the Big Beach from Grammeno Beach and walked back. The sea was calmer than yesterday so I felt I should make up for my pathetic attempt yesterday. Consequently, I managed to close my Move and Exercise Rings by 09:00. Short of standing up every hour through the night, it’s hard to close all of the rings before 12:00.

I caught up with a little administration in the morning and then wanted to get on with moving the equipment from the high shelf in the storeroom to a cupboard outside on the wall. I put some shelves in the box and then mounted it on the wall next to my electrical panel. This is a job I’ve wanted to complete for a while especially since I impaled my hand whilst clambering around in the storeroom. All the kit is easily accessible from my side of the wall so no need for any mountaineering anymore. I want to sort out all the cables and cut them to the correct length but this will involve cutting and reconnecting them which is not really an option when there are a number of people in the camping. I will do it during the winter when there are fewer people here.

It might look untidy but it’s much better than before and there’s no need to clamber up to a high shelf in order to access everything. This is an external electricity meter cupboard kindly transported from England in Ursula’s car. I just added the shelves so I can get more clutter in it.
The cables will be shortened and properly routed during the winter when there are fewer people in the camping.

I had a chat with Terry on the phone this afternoon. Mostly business to do with EG.

The dogs have just been fed after their Evening Walk and my supper is cooking in the Instant Pot. Big beans in tomato with rice tonight. It smells good at least.

I was hoping to get over to see the vet tomorrow but Antonis’ job in Chania has been postponed so he’ll not be going over that way. At present we have two cats and one dog in need of attention.
