Farewell meal at Anydri for Eleanor

Luis was not a happy chappy during the night. I needed to go and tend to his hurty bits around 02:00. He then settled down with only a little disturbance sometime later which I chose to ignore. I’d already escorted him outside whereupon he was more interested in the cats in the compound than having a wee.

What seemed a comparatively short time after, my alarm woke me and the day got off to its habitual start. I didn’t expect Luis to come out on the walk so took him outside into the compound so that he could have a wee before putting him carefully back inside the van on the seat. As I organised the others, I hear a thud as he jumped down from the seat and could see him at the van gate. He began wailing so I hooked him up with the others and off we went into the darkness albeit slowly.

We finally made it to the end of the Promontory where we discovered Ursula waiting. She enquired why we were so late but discovered for herself when taking Luis back at the end of the walk. That said, despite his handicap, Luis was a determined little creature who hobbled along using three legs which must have been tiring.

All the dogs came back so we walked back to the camping somewhat later than normal. Skinny and I went to the bakery for a chocolate croissant for Tony. Back at the camping the croissant was delivered, a shower taken then breakfast eaten.

Today was similar to yesterday and I continued on at Inter Sport. It was nearing the time of our departure to Anydrii so I changed and left the dogs and customers to enjoy the sound of Luis ‘singing’ to those who’d listen.

Our meal at Anydry was as pleasant as normal and we sat looking down the gorge to the sea. We didn’t hang around too long as it was getting cooler and the wind stronger.

Eleanor and I took the dogs for their last walk of the day minus Luis who went with Heidi as he would have struggled to keep up. Ursula reported he was walking better than in the morning so it looks as though he’s on the mend.

We chatted a while then Eleanor went back to her cabin to pack up in preparation for her 10:00 departure with Antonis the following morning.

The wind has now dropped as has the apparent temperature. The chilly northeasterly wind made me wish I’d worn my hat as I walked down the Promontory earlier. We passed a group of Czech motorhomes who I’m sure I’ve seen in previous years.

It’s cool out although Obi, Charlie persevere with their nocturnal choices. I’m in bed ready to sleep…
