Is Spring here?

I think we may have a small rodent as there was a bit of doggy activity during the night. No entrails to be seen so the aforementioned appears still to be at large.

Another warm, still and dry morning continuing with the recent procedure of all-out then three at the end for a more lively walk. I went for a cycle to Krios when we were back having put the dogs inside, fed Isabella not forgetting the cats. The ride was uneventful and also not cold. There was a good bunch of young men waiting in the Vlisidis car park in the hope of being snatched up by a passing tomato-grower for a day’s work. The return was into the wind so was slightly less lively than the outbound. I continued past the camping entrance to see if I could spot where the telephones were damaged but to no avail.

Upon my return, I went for a shower having prepared my breakfast. After the shower, there was a little time left for some email answering before breakfast was ready. I took Isabella to visit Janne and Erica then they went off for a cycle ride somewhere whilst I went back with Isabella and got on with a little work.

The afternoon warmed up following a rather miserable, grey start to the day. The wind changed direction from east to west and became cooler too. The awning tent is open wide mostly because Skinny and Isabella were fooling about earlier and forced it open. I’m sitting outside writing whilst the Pot does its stuff. Tonight’s delight is lentils with freshly cooked beetroot, some garlic and leek. Tomorrow is not forecast to be windy however there may be local windiness in the Grammeno region of Crete. The forecast is for some rain tomorrow but not so much and in the evening anyway.

The Evening Walk was noisy due to Isabella driving Obi round the bend for a while. I let Isabella and Luis off the lead in the hope that Isabella would pester Luis leaving the others alone. Predictably, Isabella prefers to pester the dogs on the lead rather than whichever is off so that strategy didn’t work out quite as hoped. Luis had a ‘Mad Luis Moment’ and went racing around like a mad thing pursued by Isabella. She is much faster than Luis although he is quicker at turning and more motivated. It was a good laugh in any event.

Janne and Erica had left for Paleochora to try to find somewhere to eat so the dogs were allowed to remain boisterous when we got back. My beetroot had cooked so I swapped them for the lentils after I’d fed the dogs.

Skinny, Obi and Isabella are outside as I write, the others are inside. The choice of location is theirs although Luis was persuaded by me.

The Pot should soon finish so another day is nearly at an end.

Still no Internet or telephones at the camping so it looks as though the fibre connection may have been the victim of the excavator. The last time that happened, it took quite a time and with a Public Holiday on Monday, it could be a while yet.

all fall down…
