Autumn is here

There were more showers in the night and some early morning, giving way to a mostly starry sky. We went out around 06:30 as I reckoned it would not rain on us. The alarm went off at 04:55 but there was no movement from any dog which I interpreted as to mean “we’ll stay in bed a little longer”. Wandering around in the darkness and the rain doesn’t do it for me.

It was a similar walk to yesterday except I took Isabella out for some extra exercise and a little ball-throwing afterwards. We went down to the end beach earlier except the Fluffy Brothers who elected to stay behind as they didn’t like the weather or the phase of the moon. I wasn’t in the mood to argue with them so left them together in the van. The rest of us returned around 08:00 which I judged as too tight for a shopping trip to Paleochora. Also, I didn’t know if there were any leavers so felt it better to stay local. Other than Skinny go off on a little walk of his own the walk was pretty uneventful. Skinny was to be found wandering purposefully along the road when I jogged his memory with a little gentle collar vibration. I’ll have to keep him nearer to me in future. It was good to be out later as at least I could see the dogs more easily. I took them to the Promontory on the lead but let them all go quite early on. Isabella was annoying everyone as she had too much energy which is why I decided to take her out on a separate walk later.

I let all the dogs out after the Isabella Walk, fed them and made my breakfast in the hope of eating it before teatime. There were two washing machine requests which involved a little walking about. In view of only 90 minutes walking this morning and no bike ride or swimming, I needed to walk around a little to close my Circles.

The day became busy with IT support tasks so it’s been a little hectic at times. Two couples are leaving tomorrow so I was glad when they offered to pay today as I shall go to Paleochora tomorrow morning assuming it’s not raining.

The day has been a mixture of sunshine and showers so I was glad I put up the tent sides last night. I can shove everything out of the middle as driving rain won’t blow under the awning. It’s also a guarantee of light rain and no wind.

I’ve reorganised the decking area a little but need to have a proper session before too long. There are strategically placed blankets so that dogs can sleep comfortably day or night. Luis and Fido are snuggled up on the blanket I’ve put down next to my chair. Obi is on the one under the table and Isabella is too busy looking for and eating carob to notice. She has more food than the others but is always hungry for more.

It’s getting very dark right now as the sky is looking very threatening and my phone has just warned me of approaching lightning. The sea is very warm at this time of the year which is one of the reasons for the unpredictable weather and the frequent storms.

The Pot has nearly depressurised so I shall go inside to have something to eat.
